The April 2018 CISTIL meeting was focused on transparency in teaching. All students benefit when the requirements of a course or assignment are made clear and frequently revisited. This meeting introduced instructors to the concept of transparency and gave opportunities for departmental instructor teams to brainstorm ways to improve transparency in their courses and assignments. Departmental groups then presented some of their ideas to the CISTIL group as a whole, which prompted feedback and further discussion.
