CIRCLE Speaker Series – Scott Lewis – Postponed

***UPDATE to the previous updates*** This event is now postponed until further notice due to precautions related to COVID-19. More information will be provided when it becomes available.

**UPDATE** This event has been postponed until Fall Semester 2020 due to WashU’s new ban on non-essential university travel due for the rest of the spring semester due to COVID-19. We will send an announcement with the updated details of the event once we confirm a new date/location.

The next featured speaker as part of CIRCLE’s Teaching Academy Speaker Series is Scott Lewis, Associate Professor of Chemistry from The University of South Florida. Dr. Lewis will deliver a keynote lecture titled “Improving General Chemistry Success with an Eye Toward Equity,” to be held on March 31st from 4:00 – 5:00 pm in Umrath Lounge. Immediately following the talk, a one-hour reception with drinks and appetizers will be held. All are welcome to attend the talk, and if you are interested in attending the reception please RSVP to Ali York so we can get an accurate headcount for refreshments.

In addition to the keynote lecture, there will be an informal luncheon on April 1st from Noon – 1:30 pm in a TBD location. The luncheon will allow interested faculty to discuss applications of Dr. Lewis’s research to courses at WashU and explore other topics related to this work. Please RSVP to Ali York if you would like to attend the luncheon (attendance at previous event not required).
