Chris Wally

Chris Wally, PhD (Health Psychology), joined CIRCLE as Project Manager & Evaluator of the HHMI Inclusive Excellence project in September 2017. Funded by a 5-year grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Chris manages the day-to-day operations of a project aiming to make STEM education more inclusive at Washington University in St. Louis. Chris works closely with STEM faculty and staff to develop, implement, and evaluate a program that applies research from psychology and education to improve inclusiveness for students in classrooms, advisor meetings, and peer support programs.

Prior to CIRCLE, Chris’ research spanned health, social, and environmental psychology. His primary focus was examining the effects of exercise and interacting with nature on physical and mental health. Now, Chris hopes to apply his knowledge of how social and environmental factors impact health to help students achieve their full potential when learning.
