April Bednarski

EDUCATION SPECIALIST & LECTURER IN BIOLOGY

April Bednarski, PhD (medicinal chemistry), joined CIRCLE as an Educational Specialist in Biology January 2017. April is part of the Transformational Initiative for Education in STEM (TIES) program. She is working with faculty in the Biology department to incorporate evidence-based teaching methods into their courses, and collaborating with CIRCLE to evaluate the impact of those changes.

April is also a Lecturer in the Department of Biology and teaches labs in the introductory biology sequence (Biol 2960 and Biol 2970) and senior level research-based lab courses (Biol 4523 Enzyme Analysis and Biol 434W Research Explorations in Genomics). She is interested in the development and assessment of course-based undergraduate research experiences (CUREs) and expanding the inquiry-based labs in the introductory lab sequence.
