Ali York

Ali York, PhD (Genetics), joined CIRCLE as an Education Specialist on the HHMI Inclusive Excellence project in November 2018. The 5-year grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute aims to make STEM education at Washington University in St. Louis more inclusive for all. Ali primarily works with STEM faculty to implement more inclusive teaching strategies in the classroom and collaborates with researchers at CIRCLE to evaluate the impact of those changes.

Prior to joining the CIRCLE team, she conducted research exploring the impacts of peer mentoring on first-year STEM students at a large state university to help the transition from high school to the college level.
