Ali York, Ph.D. (Genetics), is an Evaluation Specialist for the Office of the Provost. Prior to beginning that role, Ali was an Education Specialist at CIRCLE from November 2018 – April 2023. Ali’s main role was working on a 5-year grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute that aimed to make STEM education at Washington University in St. Louis more inclusive for all. During her time at CIRCLE, Ali worked with STEM faculty to implement more inclusive teaching strategies in the classroom and collaborated with researchers at CIRCLE to evaluate the impact of those changes.
Prior to joining the CIRCLE team, she conducted research exploring the impacts of peer mentoring on first-year STEM students at a large state university to help the transition from high school to the college level.
