The Innovations in Undergraduate Education Speaker Series continued with a talk by Julie Stanton, PhD, (Assistant Professor of Cellular Biology; Director, Undergraduate Biology Education REU, University of Georgia).

“Metacognition: How Undergraduates Self-Regulate to Learn Biology”

Students who practice metacognition can learn more and perform better than students who do not. In this talk, Julie Stanton discussed metacognition, which is an awareness and control of thinking for the purpose of learning.

A reception in Rebstock Hall Room 309 followed the event.

A workshop for Washington University STEM faculty took place at noon the following day, November 15, 2016. Registration for the Nov. 15 workshop is required.
