Research Scientist & Project Manager
Erin Solomon, PhD (social psychology), joined The Teaching Center and CIRCLE as Project Manager of the Association of American Universities (AAU) STEM Education Initiative programs in January 2014. As the AAU project manager, Erin’s primary work was managing the day-to-day logistics, coordination, and administration of the AAU STEM Initiative program, which focuses on incorporating active learning into lower-level STEM courses. Erin worked to develop, implement, and evaluate the program’s projects.
As of July 2016, Erin is a Research Scientist and Project Manager in CIRCLE. As a part of this role, she is the project manager for the Transformational Initiative for Education in STEM (TIES) project. As the TIES project manager, Erin continues her work coordinating the implementation of active and evidence-based teaching strategies into STEM courses. Additionally, she coordinates evaluation studies of the active-learning implementations, and collects and analyzes data for research reports and presentations.
Erin occasionally co-teaches the graduate-level course, Introduction to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL).
