This national Conference at the Interface of Discipline-Based Education Research (DBER) in STEM and Psychological Science provides the opportunity for psychological scientists and DBER scholars to cross-pollinate their perspectives on undergraduate STEM education. Speakers will include STEM scholars actively pursuing DBER in their fields (biology, chemistry, engineering, geoscience, physics, and psychology), as well as psychological scientists with research focused on STEM teaching and learning.
By promoting scholarly research at the interface of psychological science and DBER, this conference will synthesize the current state of knowledge on STEM education, explore barriers to cross-disciplinary research, and generate action plans for advancing such collaborative work.
We would like to thank our sponsor, the National Science Foundation (grant no. DUE-1630128, 2017), for the generous support that made it possible for the Department of Physics at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and CIRCLE at Washington University to co-host this conference.
